You don t have to take them down no storage hassles. You simply need to place the screwdriver in the middle of the turnbuckle so that the entire piece rotates. Leave at least 8 12 inches of overhang on all sides. Just attach the hook to the turnbuckle and then slide it into place over the corner of the shade.

Start with a pergola arbor or another structure you wish to cover with the shade cloth. The reputable manufacturers will include turnbuckles that can simply be tightened with a screwdriver. Attach shade cloth to one of the longest sides first the edge closest to your house. They don t require you to build a permanent structure on the deck.

If you have one corner of the sun shade without a turnbuckle usually because you are trying to keep the shade as close as possible to that point then attach this point first. The corners of the shade should have grommets or steel rings in place. Then go to each corner in turn and join the sun shade to the turnbuckle. Use snap hooks or carbines to attach it to the corners of the sail.

Some of the cheaper brands of sail shades don t have these and simply attach directly to the hook.
